Tour in Romania : Transilvania, Wallachia and The Black Sea / 9 days

1 st day : Hungary, Oradea, Cluj, Targu Mures

The group will be wellcome at the border by a Romanian guide, who will accompany them through the whole travel. Not far away from the border comesOradea, and through the West Carpathians you can reach the well known town ofCluj Napoca. At noon, the group will visit the St. Michael’ s Cathedral, which is situated in the old part of the town. This gothical sacred construction is very often compared to Saint Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, which was built by the citizens of Saxonia in the late 14th century. In the afternoon, the group will arrive in TarguMures. This will be the most beautiful day, because the people will have the opportunity to see the gorgeous landscapes and the whole environment of theWestern Carpathians. In the late afternoon, it’s scheduled the visit to the localPalace of Culture and also to the Orthodox Cathedral (the largest one fromRomania) and to the center of Targu Mures town – where you can visit its pretty shopping center and the Theatre Square. The tourists will have dinner in TarguMures area, where they will also be accomodated overnight.

   2 nd day – Targu Mures – Predeal / Sinaia
   At first, the group will have breakfast. In this morning, they will go inTransilvania, the area where the German Collony (sasii) established itself in 12 thcentury. The first stop is made in Sighisoara, where they will also visit the old part of the town. The most beautiful mediaeval city of Romania rises on a wooded hill. In the center of the city, where the 429 metres high mountain castle (on its highest point) dominates the view, you can see rising the mountain church and mountain school. At the fortress wall you can still see the 9 towers pointed with roofs guard left from 14 that were standing at first there. These impressive buildings from the 14 th century still stands today, because it survived a horrible fire in 1676. A piece of splendor of the historical museum is the reproduction of a pharmacy from the 17 th century. Here the points of touristic interest are : the Clock Tower, the birth house of Dracula, as well as the mountain church and theJosef Haltrich High School. The most beautiful Church Castle of Romania stands for a typical farmer village in Biertan. It is listed as one of the U.N.E.S.C.O. cultural monuments. In the whole area the group can see numerous Saxonian Church Castles which were built in the 14th and 15th century. In Brasov, the Black Churchis also visited, which is the largest gothical building standing in Eastern Europe. It`sthe Turkish prayer carpet collection that is world wide famous. In the afternoon, the group will go visiting the Bran Castle, which is also called Dracula`s Castle. This name was established a long time ago by the Teutonen and strengthened afterwards by the German guilds from Konstradt. In reality, Vlad Tepes – Dracula never entered there – he was a hospodar in Wallachia, not in Transilvania. But it was convenient to say that he did in the Middle Ages, because back then,Transilvania was very powerfully , and it however reminds of the description of theDracula Castle made by Bram Stocker.
            In the evening, the group arrives to Sinaia, a city in the South Carpathians, which got the name from the monks from the Sinai Penninsula, because of the monastery, which was built here, in the now called town of Sinaia.Turist hill have dinner here in Sinaia/ Predeal area, where they will also beaccomodated.
   3 rd day – Predeal / Sinaia – Mamaia Resort
   At first tourists will have breakfast. Afterwards, in the morning, the group can visit the Peles Castle in Sinaia, which was the summer residence of the royal family. In the program is included the inspection of the locks from Peles andPelisor. Karl von Hohenzollern Sigmaringen- victory Marine General – who named Carol I as king on the Romanian Throne. To the mixture of wood, stone and framework architecture with asymmetrical towers in the style of the German Renaissance, are added Italian terraces, build in Baroque Style. The Peles Castle, built in the Bavarian Style, reminds the Hohenzollern`s of homeland. This day the group is driven to the southern area of Romania, nearby Wallachia. The turist will continue their way to Mamaia Resort. They will have dinner in Constanta area, where they will also be accomodated.
            4th –6th  day in Mamaia Resort – bathing vacation on trip programs (optional)
   Forest Celebration
   Rich meal, dance and music expect you in a roustic atmosphere, in the forest hid restaurants. Various / National program and a tombola round this evening starting from approx. 30 € per person – including food suplly.
            The Danube Delta
   The Danube Delta is one of the last paradises alive on earth. To thestreamtrip on the board central arm of the Danube River (the lunch on board or inMaliwe), you`ll be driven into the narrow branch side of the Danube Delta. The tourists will have dinner in the town of Tulcea. Approx. 32 € per person – including food supply.
            Romanian Wedding
   A giant offer of Romanian specialities expects you. The whole thing begins with the Romanian plum liqour (tuica), so that the stomach is now ready for digestion. While you eat and enjoy the taste of wine, young people dance for you. A wedding forwards, where you can also dance-along as a wedding guest.Approx. 31 € per person – including food supply.
            Black Sea Coast Tour
   Midday. Become acquainted with the Romanian Black Sea Coast ! Perhaps discover your dream resort for the coming year. The group will visit all bathing resorts and Constanta among other things – with the Archaeological Museum. The group will have lunch o terace near the sea. Approx. 15 € per person –inlucuding food supply.
            Vineyard Murfatlar – Wine Taste
   At 25 kilometres far from Constanta,is located the well-known vineyardMurfatlar. Test your “understanding of wine” and discover your favorite wine. As a memory gift you`ll be given a glass and a small bottle of wine. Approx. 26 € per person – including food Imbiss.
            Adamclisi / Saint Andrew`s Monastery
   Religion and history stand next to each other. One of the first christinatedplaces of Europe was the region of Dobrogea (by Wallachia) by the Apostle Andrew. Here are being visited: Adamclisi – a monument that was built by the Roman Emperor – Traian (first century a.Ch.) and Saint Andrew`s Monastery; an early indication of the Christianity in this area. The monks invite the group to lunch ! Approx. 38 € per person – including foos supply.
            7 th day – Mamaia , Bucharest, Pitesti / Targoviste
   After the breakfast, in the morning, the group will be driven to Bucharest, in order to make the city tour here. The capital of Romania, having over 2 million inhabitants, is one of the largest cities of the east. In approximately 3 hours of travel, the group arrives to Bucharest. During the city tour you see park situations maintained, architectural monuments from „Back to Epoque”, the Arch of Triumph and even the monument of the Roman Female Wolf with Romulus and Remus. City tour in Bucharest offers you the opportunity to see the political, economical and cultural center of Romania. Bucharest experienced many dark times in the run of the Balkans. The group will undertake a round travel and see the National Theatre, the University of Bucharest, the Church of Patriarchy (the Orthodox Head from Romania) and monumental buildings of the 20 th century, which were established under the dictator Ceausescu- and even, if possbile, the Palace of Parliament- the second largest (as surface) in the world after the Pentagon. City tour begins with the attendance of the Patriarchy Church and the Village Museum. In the afternoon, the group is driven from Bucharest to Pitesti . Tourists will have dinner in Pitesti / Targoviste area where they will also be accomodated at a 3*Hotel.

8th day – Pitesti / Sibiu
Tourists will have breakfast in the morning. On the way are visited the monasteries : Curtea de Arges andCozia, which are the oldest monasteries in Romania. By the red tower pass, we arrive again in the southernmost part of the country. In the afternoon the group arrives at Sibiu (Hermannstadt). During a short walk in the old part oftown , you arrive at the Bruckenthal museum. Here are to be seen some of the most valuable paintings of Romania. At the same time one can also visit the Gothical Church, which was the seat of the Evanghelist bishops fromRomania. In the evening, the group is invited by the mountain peasants into Sibiel. Here, first, the strange Glass IconMuseum of the village is visited. Afterwards, together with the peasants, the tourists go back home for dinner and overnight accomodation in Sibiu, at a 3* Hotel.

9th day Sibiu , Sebes (Muehlbach), Deva (Diemrich), Arad, Hungary

Breakfast. In the morning the group is driven by the villges risen in the 18 th century. Before the travel along by the Mieresch valley, the group drives to Sighisoara. The group arrives also at Sighisoara ( Schaessburg). The city is also compared with the city of Salzburg. The travel continues with Deva ( Diemrich) and Hunedoara, large ironworks centers, which are well-known for their impressive look. The plant built on the Roman Wall reminds of the Hungarian King Sigismund- which became later Austrian Emperror – in 1409 the prince Voicu Corvin have been given thanks for his bravery in the fight against the Turks. Today a style mixture of Gothic and Renaissance is to be seen .There are to see, among other things, the Chappel, the Knight`s Hall and the Federal Hall State Parliament coming on into the westernmost part of Romania, in Banat. Arad is the last Romanian city, which is visited during this round trip and which has a large upswing also in the time of Maria Theresa. In Nadlac, the group sais good-bye to the Romanian guide, who was the whole time with them thereby.
