1st Day Budapest – Timisoara
The group will be welcomed by the Romanian guide at the border, who will accompany them the whole travel. After that, the group goes towards Timisoara. . On the way they will visit the city Arad, with its typical buildings from the time of Maria Theresia - a very interesting city (the history of the city is long and varied). Here, they will see the fortress, the Serbisch-Orthodox Church and the Roman-Catholic Cathedral with Saint Florian’s Chapel. In the late afternoon the group arrives at Timisoara, which is considered to be the largest city from the west ofRomania. Here, they will visit the Place of the Opera, as well as the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is completely in the center, the place, where the revolution began in December 1989. They will see the Roman-Catholic Cathedral from the baroque time delighted by Fischer von Erlach, the Plague Column, the old City Hall, the Orthodox Cathedral, as well as the building in the prince Eugen used to have those city calls himself also as the first free city of Romania. Dinner and overnightaccomodation in Timisoara.
2nd Day Timisoara- Deva-Alba Iulia-Sibiu
After breakfast, tourists are driven from Deva to Hunedoara. . Deva is well-known in Romania due to its castles, as well as due of the dacical and Roman attachments from the environment. By the Mures` Valley along, the group comes into Hunedoara, a largo ironwork center which is know for the impressive look. The plant built on Roman wall remainders is the Hunedoara King Sigismund-which became later German Emperor- in 1409 the prince Voicu Corvin has been given thanks for his bravery in the fights against the Otomans. Here is to be seen a style mixture of Gothic and Renaissance. There are to see, among other things, the Chapel, the Knight`s Hall. They will visit the Orthodox Churches associated and Catholic Cathedrals with graves of Transilvanya`s Princes. The baroque castle-plant-far of the Habsburger is visited in the morning, according the program. It reminds of the visit at Karl`s Castle in Alba Iulia, where the group can still see parts of the fortress built by Eugen of Savoyen. By the victory gate of the castle is the statue of the emperor Karl the VI th – the father of Maria Teresa , as a Roman
General. In the afternoon the group arrives at Sibiu. Subsequently, a festive dinner expects on them, overnight accomodation in Sibiu or environment.
3th Day Sibiu – Brasov - Sinaia/Predeal
After the breakfast in the morning the group is driven to Brasov(Kronstadt). In Sibiu (the city which in 12th century was under the Hungarian crown), tourist will have a short walk in the old part of the town and then will take a visit to the Bruckenthal Museum. At the same time, the group can also visit those Gothical Cathedrals, which were the seats of the Evanghelist bishops from Romania. The group afterwards goes to Sighisoara – the city often compared with Salzburg- . The objects of interest of the city are the old clock tower, the birth house of the prince Dracula, the mountain church, as well as the Josef Haltrich High School. The most beautiful medieval city of Romaniarises on a wooded hill. In the center of the city rises the 429 meters high castle mountain, on whose highest point, mountain church and mountain school are visible far away. Along the fortress wall still stand nine that were at the beginning 14 towers with pointed roofs guard. That impressive building from the 14th century has passes through a fire in 1676. The group will spend the midday in the ski travel area of Poiana Brasov (Schullerau), where they will eat the robber hut. For the afternoon is reserved the attendance of the Bran castle (Toerzburg). Although the building was already begun by the Teutonen, the castle has the current appearance only in the 13th century, when the citizens of Saxonia developed it into the defense system. This castle is well-known also as Dracula castle, because for short time also the prince Dracula (Vlad the Phaeler) lived here, out of the Walachei. In reality, Vlad Tepes never entered the Bran Castle. But it was convinient back in those times to believe that he did, because Transilvania was a very powerful state and the Bran Castle really matches the Bram Stocker`s description about Dracula`s Castle.Dinner and overnight accomodation in Sinaia or Predeal area.
4th Day Sinaia/Predeal – Bucharest - Sinaia/Predeal
At first, tourist will have breakfast in the morning. Afterwards, the group goes visiting the Peles Castle inSinaia, which was the summer residence of the Royal family. Karl von Hohenzollern Sigmaringen- victory marine general – who named Carol I as king on the Romanian Throne. To the mixture of wood, stone and framework architecture with asymmetrical towers in the style of the German Renaissance, are added Italian terraces, build in baroque style. The Peles Castle, built in the Bavarian Style, reminds the Hohenzollern`s of homeland. This day the group is driven to the southern area of Romania, nearby Wallachia. The turist will continue their way to MamaiaResort. They will have dinner in Constanta area, where they will also be accomodated. Sinaia is a city in the South Carpathians, which got the name from the monks from the Sinai Penninsula, because of the monastery, which was built here, in the now called town of Sinaia. The trip continues with the tour in Bucharest. The capital of Romania, with over 2 million inhabitants is one of the largest cities of the East. After almost three hours of travel the group reaches Bucharest. Bucharest is surnamed the "Paris of the East" - a shepherd gave this name to the city Bucur-Bucuresti. During the city tour, the group will see architectural monument dating back from the “bark to epoque”, the Arch of Triumph, the monument of the Roman Wolf Female with Romulus and Remus. Bucharest experienced many dark times in the run of the centuries- like its distruction causes by the Turks in 1595. The country`s capital is called also the Paris of the Balkans. The group will undertake a round travel and see the National Theatre, the University of Bucharest, the Church of the Patriarchy and buildings from the 20th century, which were established under the dictator Ceausescu, and, if possible, the Palace of the Parliament – the second largest building (as surface) after the Pentagon worldwide. The city tour continues with the visit at the Village Museum. Late in the evening, the group will be back again in Sinaia or Predea. Dinner and overnight accomodation in Sinaia or Predeal area at a 3* Hotel.
5th Day Sinaia/Predeal - Bicaz - Piatra Neamt
6th Day Piatra Neamt- Suceava
Breakfast. In the morning the group will visit the two nun monasteries Agapia and Varatec, which have over 1000 nuns and are the largest ones in whole Europe. The monastery Neamt is the oldest monastery in Moldova and the castle Neamt was an important military point for the whole teritory. The monastery Neamt is one of the most interesting monasteries, from the Middle Ages, an important orthodox cultural center with schools for miniature paintings and copyes. There is to be seen, among other things, the impressive Ascension Day Church with its elegant, octagonal tower, which is on the inside completely covered with fresces, representing many martyrsscenes. The group can also see the grave of a monk, which came here in the 18th century with his 60 pupils from mountain Athos. The group will continue to drive to Suceava. Dinner and overnight accomodation into Suceava or environment.
7th Day Suceava - Campulung Moldovenesc – Suceava
Breakfast in the morning. The group drives to the Prislop pass; they will also arrive to Maramures area where the old traditions are still kept by the world-well-known wood churches out in Ieud - Bogdan Voda and Rozavlea, are identically to those of the staff churches from Norway.In Bogdan Voda there are to be seen archeologicalexcavations from the last 20 years, a Christian cemetery, a feudale residence from the 13th and 14th century and the ruins of a stone church, as well as a monastery from the 13th century. The village Ieud is situated 50 km away from Sighet in the Iza valley. It is famous by its wood church, one of the largest old timber constructions ofRomania. It is called wood cathedral or gothical cathedral and is the most beautiful of the 31 old wood churches of the Maramures. In the evening dinner and overnight accomodation in 3 * hotel in Satu Mare area.
9TH day Satu Mare- Hungary
In the morning, the group drives on the way to Oradea, up to the border with Boron. They take a few moments of rest in Oradea, where the buildings are built expecially in art nouveau. At the border, the guide leaves the group, and then the tourists drive themselves to Hungary. |
