1st Day United Kingdom - Bucharest - Poiana Brasov - Sinaia
Meeting of the participants and flight to Bucharest. After you meet our tour guide, the journey continues toPoiana Brasov, to the hotel situated in the attractive in the mountains near Brasov. Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day Brasov and "Dracula's Castle"
Breakfast at the hotel. Their first part of the day brings you to Brasov, the biggest town in Transylvania. Brasovwas founded in the 13th century by the German order of knights and quickly developped to one of the most important protective Castles of Transylvania. During the day, on a walk through the town you see the BlackChurch:the landmark of Brasov, the biggest Protestant Cathedral in S-E Europe. The journey continues in the southwest direction to Bran. The fortress was built by the knights of the order from Brasov and has even withstand the attacking Turk. The castle is well known as "Dracula's Castle", the family castle of count VladTepes. The final goal of today's journey is Sighisoara, famously known as the "Nurenberg of Transylvania", a town in which monuments and historic buildings are under complete conservation. Dinner and overnight stay.
3rd Day Sighisoara - Bicaz - Moldova
After breakfast, your journey back to the Middle Ages begins. During a walk through the upper town you visit the mountain church and walk by the birthplace of count Vlad Tepes, the later prince of Valahia. After a 30 km long journey through Bicaz, past the East Carpathians, you arrive at Campulung Moldovenesc/Gura Humorului. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day Moldova`s Monasteries
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you visit four nicest monasterys of the prince tums Moldavia. First you go to the nunnery Moldovita, further on, to the monastery of Sucevita for the latest one of the five big monasterys. This monastery is known for its hourly ceremony. On this occasion, the sisters hit with a hammer on the woodenhourl wood. All the churches and monasteries have the humor of old pantings. As a last monastery, you visit the monastery of Voronet, also called the "Sixtine Chapel of the East". The colours are nowhere in the world more intensive. The blue is so vibrant that art historians refer to Voronet blue the same way they do Titian red. After this journey through the sacred world of Romania, you will return to your hotel of Campulung Moldovenesc/GuraHumorului. Dinner and overnight accommodation.
5th Day Transylvania
Today you leave the principality Moldova and have breakfast over the Carpathian Mountains, and through Transylvania to Cluj, to the centre of the Hungarians in Transylvania and the pulsating, alive university town. In the afternoon, you will see the town of Cluj where, among other things, you will visit the gothic Michael's Church and the Banfyy palace, a building decorated with luxuriant sculptor's work in the late-baroque style. Today, here, the Art Museum is accommodated. Dinner and overnight stay in Cluj.
6th Day Cluj - Alba Iulia - Sibiu
Breakfast at the hotel. The first part of your daily schedule is Alba Iulia. Karl's castle was the place of the first seven mountain landmarks, and the capital of the principality Transylvania. Here, the big National Assembly took place in 1918, in which the union of Transylvania with Romania was decided. After this marvellousinspection, your journey goes further to Sibiu. Sibiu is a piece of Middle Ages in the heart of S-E Europe. Which is why Sibiu also becomes "a protective barrier of the Christians". You will get to know the city during your town walk, by the different levels of the fortification layouts. In the evening we serve to you rustic vespers. Overnight stay in Sibiu.
7th Day: By the Walachei
Breakfast at the hotel. First go by the Walachei with its typical farmhouses to Horezu, a known pottery centre. You will attend the monastery which was named by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. Further on, the journey continues to the best known place of pilgrimage in Romania: Curtea de Arges., Among other things, you will take a stroll by the old Fuerstenstaedchen, afterwads you will go past to the Bishop's Church, one of the most famous historic architectural monuments of Romania. Here, is also the tomb of the first Romanian king. AroundManole's Fountain rises the legend of the nice woman of the master builder which had her immured here by her man. Afterwards, the journey continues to Bucharest. Dinner and overnight stay.
8th Day Bucharest - United Kingdom
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you visit Bucharest the capital of the country. It is called by many the "small sister of Paris". Among the rest, they see parks, historic architectural monuments from the Belle Epoque and the immense Ceausescu Palace which today serves as a parliament building serves. Stop by the old commercial quarter and feel the atmosphere which is felt to this day. You will be transferred to the airport and followed by a home flight to United Kingdom.
